Thoughts on Books & Bookbinding

In the future, this page will present a series of reflections on Books and Bookbinding. Some of the topics will include "How does restoration affect the value of a book?", "How should I best store and display my books?", "What repairs can I do myself?", "Should I use leather dressing on my books?"

Do you have another topic you would like to see discussed? Please send us an email to let us know and we'll include it, too.

We're still working on the website adding material and examples so we invite you to stop back often to see what's new. In the meantime, feel free to contact us to see how we can meet your needs or answer any questions you might have. We look forward to working with you.

A Mauchlin Ware Binding has been fitted with a new leather spine to replace the missing original. Mauchline Ware was made in Scotland for the souvenir trade and sold around the world. The wood was sycamore and many sported a transfer image representing the place of purchase.
